The Luxury Watches of the Entourage Finale

Personally, I think Entourage is almost worth watching for the product placements alone. We could do a whole post on Ari Gold’s wardrobe (I love his sportscoat from the private jet scene–if anyone can identify it, please let me know). Okay now on to the watches, starting Audemars Piguet and their Royal Oak model, and a Rolex Daytona to boot.

Audemars Piguet makes quite a few appearances through the seasons of Entourage, with Ari Gold seen wearing a classy silver Royal Oak Chronograph in the final episode. He’s pictured below with it, still impeccably dressed while lounging poolside on the Amalfi Coast of Italy. He had been often seen sporting his rose gold Royal Oak Chronograph since season 5, when he was given as a gift by his then soon-to-be boss.

While a fictional gift on the show, it’s been revealed that Doug Elin, his real boss and the creator of Entourage, let actor Jeremy Piven keep the rose gold Royal Oak Chronograph as a gift (a $50k+ gift).  So we have a little bit of life imitating art here. Very on-brand for the quasi-reality appeal that is Entourage.

Turtle is seen wearing his brand new rose gold Royal Oak Chronograph with a brown leather strap for the latter part of the final season. He receives this watch as a gift by the fictional owner of Avion Tequila a few episodes in.  Turtle says thanks and exclaims that a gold watch is a tradition in the States as a retirement gift. Avion’s owner confirms this, saying that Avion no longer needs him as part of their operations. While he was disappointed, a free Audemars Piguet can cheer up anyone’s day.

Eric “E” Murphy wearing a rose gold Rolex Daytona

Eric “E” Murphy wears a rose gold Rolex Daytona for the finale. I’m pretty sure he’s worn this watch in a few previous Entourage episodes as well. These days, the Rolex Daytona is looking like the Rolex of choice for the younger crowd. Another recent and notable appearance was on Kanye West’s wrist for the “Otis” music video with Jay-Z.

Johnny Drama wearing a mystery watch

I’ve been losing sleep over Johnny Drama’s watch that I just can’t pinpoint. I’ve asked around Luxury Bazaar and online and haven’t got a definite answer yet. Johnny Drama wore this all-black piece with a rubber strap for the final episode, which was hard to make out.

It looks like an all-black Hublot Big Bang, but it’s hard to be sure. And Nicolas, one of our eagle-eyed readers, recognized the watch below as an Alpina Extreme Diver. Nice job, Nicolas!

NFL cameo and extra character watches

While the star Vincent Chase is never seen with any watches during the series (or really any accessories/jewelry of any kind) luxury watches still make appearances on the wrists of cameos and supporting characters throughout the series. The Entourage finale saw a few.

NFL personality Mike Ditka wearing a yellow gold Rolex Daytona

During the finale, former NFL player, and Bears coach, NFL personality Mike Ditka makes a cameo to help motivate Ari’s agency staff. He looks to be sporting a Rolex Daytona in yellow gold with a blue leather strap. Former NFL coach Barry Alvarez also appears alongside Mike Ditka and looks like he’s possibly wearing a platinum or silver Rolex with a blue face.

Teen opera singer wearing a red gold IWC Portofino

Here are the teenage opera singers that Ari’s daughter introduced to him this episode. While unsigned, two seemed to be wearing the types of watches you’d expect to see in Entourage. Of course, if you’re going to the same Beverly Hills high school as Ari Gold’s daughter, you won’t see any of the kids wearing G-Shock or Timex. The one I could catch a snapshot of looks like an IWC Portofino in red gold with a brown leather strap. The Portofino is named after a northern Italian seaside village, making it a classy pick for a young Italian opera singer. While popular back in the 1970s, its plain look is not too common these days. It still stands as a truly a timeless design that no one can deny.

Parting thoughts

While fans and critics of Entourage have mixed feelings about the finale and last few seasons, the show has had an impact on the pop culture of the 2000’s. It was good while it lasted and needed to be wrapped up, but the watches in Entourage never failed us. Now we’ll all have to wait and see what the cast is wearing for the planned movie version of Entourage.
