New Blancpain Watches for 2024
While the Blancpain name may not be as recognizable as other Swatch Group stalwarts like Omega, Longines, and, of course, Swatch, it is one of the conglomerate’s higher-echelon brands with a long and storied history. For 2024, the oldest registered watch brand in the world (founded in 1735!) has released a slate of fresh watches, mostly in its Famous Fifty Fathoms dive watch line. There are also new colorways of a classic Villeret model and an Air Comand. Keep reading as we cover all the new Blancpain watches for 2024.
Camouflage Green Air Command
The Air Command collection is Blancpain’s selection of vintage-inspired aviation watches, which draw design cues from Blancpain chronographs from the 1950s. Blancpain has added two new models to its Air Command pilot watch collection, both clad in camouflage green.
The first of the two measures 42.5mm in diameter while the second, smaller option clocks in at 36.2mm. Both versions feature titanium cases with bidirectional titanium countdown-type bezels with black ceramic inserts. The camouflage-green dials of these flyback chronographs include two subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock, Arabic numerals, an outer tachymeter scale, and vintage-looking SuperLumi-Nova is used throughout to emphasize the retro look.
Like previous versions, powering the Air Command watches are Caliber F388B (for the 42.5mm version) and Caliber F188B (for the 36.2mm edition) self-winding movements. Blancpain is limiting the production of these green Air Command watches — 100 examples for the larger model and 200 for the more compact one.

Full Red Gold Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Watches
The Bathyscaphe, first introduced in 1956, is the more streamlined version of Blancpain’s famed Fifty Fathoms dive watch; the company refers to it as the “civilian” version or the “daily-wear counterpart” in contrast to the more tool-spec focused original edition from 1953 designed for divers.
Blancpain has now dressed up two Bathyscaphe models in full red gold: the Quantième Complet Phases de Lune and the Chronographe Flyback. While these models were already available with red gold cases, they were paired with straps rather than these heavy-hitting gold bracelets.
Both red gold cases measure 43mm in diameter and 13.4mm thick and both are topped with blue ceramic bezel inserts. What’s more, they both share the same blue gradient dial with a sunray finish. Of course, the dials differ in what they indicate given that one is a complete calendar while the other is a flyback chronograph.
The Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet Phases de Lune’s dial is home to the day, date, month, and moon phase indicators. The watch is powered by the in-house Caliber 6654.P.4 self-winding movement with 72 hours of power reserve.
On the other hand, the Bathyscaphe Chronographe Flyback’s dial includes three subdials and a date window at 4:30. It runs on the 5 Hz Caliber F385 with 50 hours of power reserve.

Black Ceramic Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet Phases de Lune Watches
It’s an interesting proposition to pair a classic complication, such as a complete calendar with a moonphase, with a tool-watch like a diver. In 2019, Blancpain did just that by debuting the Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet Phases de Lune — part dress watch, part sports watch. Since the Bathyscaphe is Blancpain’s more accessible sports watch that happens to be dive-ready, the thought process has some merit.
In 2024, the Blancpain Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet Phases de Lune collection welcomed black ceramic models, available with blue, green, or black dials. The black and blue dial versions are fitted with black bezels whereas the green dial variant is equipped with a matching green bezel.
The ceramic Bathyscaphe complete calendar moonphase watches have ever-so-slightly larger cases, measuring 43.6mm in diameter and 14.1 mm thick. As always, the cases are water resistant to 300 meters deep and include a unidirectional timing bezel, this time fashioned from ceramic.
As expected from Blancpain, the 2024 models are available with a choice of NATO straps, sailcloth straps, or ceramic bracelets. Inside the new ceramic cases is the same Caliber 6654.P.4 automatic movement — ticking at a frequency of 28,800vph (4 Hz) and guaranteeing a power reserve of 72 hours — that drives all current-production Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet Phases de Lune references.

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Automatique 42mm, 2024 Release
It took a while but the Fifty Fathoms Automatique line finally got the memo about the inclination towards more compact watches and announced a new family of 42mm (ish) models. While 42.3mm isn’t small by any means, regular production Fifty Fathoms Automatique watches have largely sported 45mm cases since its inception in 2007; the diameter and thickness reduction means that the watch will become wearable for more wrists.
To be clear, this 2024 Blancpain release isn’t the first time we’ve seen this case size. A trio of 42mm automatic Fifty Fathoms models was unveiled in 2023; however, these were special limited edition pieces to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the famed diving watch.
Aside from the size change, the remainder of the watch maintains the design codes of the Fifty Fathoms Automatique, which is to say a domed sapphire crystal insert over the unidirectional rotating bezel with a luminous dive scale, prominent sword-shaped hands, and numerals at the four cardinal points. There’s also a date window between 4 and 5 o’clock and the seconds hand benefits from a red tip. Even the high-performance Caliber 1315 self-winding movement remains the same, operating at 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz) and providing a full five days (120 hours) of power reserve thanks to three series-coupled barrels.
For now, Blancpain is offering the new Fifty Fathoms Automatique in red gold or titanium, each available with blue or black dials/bezels/straps. The titanium version is offered with a titanium bracelet, sailcloth textile strap, NATO-like strap, or rubber strap. The red gold version only comes with a choice of straps, no bracelet. Considering all the possible configurations, there are 14 new Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Automatique 42mm ref. 5010 models launched in 2024. I would fully expect to see some stainless steel models added to the lineup in the not-so-distant future.

Green Villeret Quantième Perpétuel
Following the current popular trend of green watches, Blancpain dressed its Villeret Quantième Perpétuel (i.e. perpetual calendar) up with a sunburst green dial. The Villeret, named after the town where the company was founded, is Blancpain’s most classic line, often featuring complications.
This particular 2024 Blancpain release is a perpetual calendar from the 6656 series, which has been a mainstay in Blancpain’s catalog since 2018 and is available in various materials. Like previous versions, the new-for-2024 green dial version launched to honor the leap year includes a 40.3mm red gold case. The dial is home to three subdials for the date, day, month, and leap year indicator, along with a moonphase display at 6 o’clock. The Roman numeral indices lean into that classic vibe while the slim bezel keeps the dial expansive for better legibility.
The back of the case reveals the beautifully decorated Caliber 5954.4 self-winding movement in charge of driving the perpetual calendar complication and supplying 72 hours of power reserve.

Blancpain X Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms for 2024: The Ocean Of Storms
Swatch stole headlines when it partnered with its sister brand Omega to create the MoonSwatch collection of affordable versions of the Speedmaster Moonwatch. It wasn’t long until the cheap and cheerful brand applied the same approach to the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, resulting in the Scuba Fifty line. While the collection made its debut in 2023, a new version called the Blancpain X Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms: The Ocean Of Storms was released in January 2024.
The Ocean of Storms variant features a sleek black colorway, inspired by the lunar mare known as the Oceanus Procellarum. The original line had five models — one for each of the Earth’s oceans. So for the sixth iteration, Blancpain had to look to the Moon for inspiration.
Like other Scuba Fifty watches, the Ocean of Storms includes a bioceramic case measuring 42.3mm in diameter, 14.4mm thick, and 48mm lug-to-lug and water-resistant to 91 meters — or 50 fathoms. Inside the case and visible from the caseback is the 51-component SISTEM51 automatic movement that powers the time and date functions and supplies an impressive 90 hours of power reserve. The movement is decorated with a depiction of the full moon (zoomed in on the Ocean of Storms) and above is is a digital imprint of nudibranch Okenia Luna.

2024 Blancpain Watches In Conclusion
In true Blancpain form, the company focused heavily on expanding its diving watch line. It’s easy to forget sometimes, especially in recent years, that Blancpain makes other watches aside from the Fifty Fathoms and its derivatives. It has the Air Command collection of military pilot watches, the artistic Métiers d’Art range, the women’s Ladybird pieces, and the classic Villeret range.
Hopefully, we’ll see other new Blancpain watches arrive in 2024, if only to remind us that the company can indeed create top-notch watches that aren’t divers.
