What is the Price of a Rolex Sky-Dweller in 2024?
At retail, current Rolex Sky-Dweller prices range from $15,850 to $54,000. Due to strong demand, you can expect to pay over $16,000 for even the most affordable pre-owned variants. In 2024, market prices for solid gold Sky-Dwellers are starting to settle just around retail for most configurations, although the hottest dials still bring big premiums. And despite much hubbub about the watch industry cooling off, even two-tone Sky-Dwellers continue to sell well at full list price. This Rolex Sky-Dweller price guide compares retail and market prices for every variant, both current and discontinued.

The Sky-Dweller, launched in 2012, is a brilliant take on the annual calendar function. Often, highly complicated watches are painstakingly difficult to set, but Rolex’s Ring Command Bezel allows the user to set all the functions quite intuitively. The Sky-Dweller is Rolex’s most complicated watch.
Although some people take digs at Rolex for their supposed lack of complicated watches, the bezel control technology is an impressive (and arguably underappreciated) piece of horological engineering. Plus, the fact that the current month is marked by a colored marker at the corresponding hour (6 o’clock = June and so forth) is such a clever innovation that it almost seems obvious. There’s no need to clutter the dial with additional “month” text. And considering the prices other top brands charge for annual calendars, Rolex Sky-Dweller prices are relatively reasonable.
Rolex Sky-Dweller Price Overview: Retail vs. Market
Rolex’s new releases for 2023 included a new generation of Sky-Dwellers. Despite an updated movement, the starting retail prices have remained unchanged: $15,650 for the steel and white gold version, $19,250 for a two-tone, $38,850-$42,700 for an Oysterflex model, and $48,000-$50,900 for a Sky-Dweller with a solid gold bracelet.
If you’re buying from a grey market dealer to skip the Rolex waitlist, expect to pay at least $18,000 for a steel and white gold Sky-Dweller in like-new condition, over $21,000 for a two-tone Sky-Dweller, and upwards of $50,000 for a full gold Sky-Dweller with a matching gold bracelet. The most popular dials can bring a significant premium beyond those prices, like the blue-green dial for the Everose gold Sky-Dweller that currently trades for over $70,000.

Why Does Rolex Sky-Dweller Price Vary So Much?
All Sky-Dwellers have basically the same specs, except for three things: dial, case material, and bracelet. Two-tone models cost about $4,000 more than comparable steel-bracelet models, except for ones with blue or mint green dials. Simply due to demand, those popular dials are worth thousands more than other colors. And when it comes to gold models, dials with lumed “stick” indexes are worth substantially more than the older numeral dials. Also, keep in mind that Jubilee bracelets generally add a few hundred dollars to the price vs. Oyster bracelets.
Sky-Dwellers from 2023 and newer, with the current movement, sell for only slightly more than equivalent previous-generation models. Rolex’s website contains a Sky-Dweller Configurator if you’re interested in seeing all the current models and configurations.

Rolesor Sky-Dweller Variants
The most affordable Sky-Dweller, the White Rolesor model, debuted in 2017 featuring a stainless steel Oyster bracelet and case with a white gold bezel. The current model retails for $15,650 and sells secondhand for about 20% more.
“Rolesor” is Rolex’s bizarre attempt to make a proprietary brand name for a watch containing both gold and stainless steel parts. Rolex would surely prefer that I call their steel-and-white-gold Sky-Dwellers “White Rolesor,” but nobody says that. Watch enthusiasts simply call it a “steel Sky-Dweller.” We understand that the bezel is white gold. And when Rolex says “Yellow Rolesor,” that’s what a watch collector would call “two-tone,” or “bimetal” if they’re European.
These Rolesor Sky-Dweller watches are available in a range of dial colors, each of which has the same retail price–although they often vary on the secondary market. For instance, blue dial variant of the the steel and white gold Sky-Dweller ref. 326934 was always a highly popular model, and will cost a lot more when purchased from a grey dealer.
In 2023, Rolex released a new generation of Sky-Dwellers with an updated movement and 336xxx reference numbers. The 336 Sky-Dwellers are identifiable by two small crown logos between the words “Swiss Made,” but they otherwise look like the previous generation models. A popular mint green dial color debuted in 2023 as well, with premiums similar to blue ones.
Gold Sky-Dweller Variants
The current Sky-Dweller collection is home to yellow gold, Everose gold (Rolex’s proprietary rose gold alloy), and white gold variants. The retail prices of the Everose gold and white gold Rolex Sky-Dwellers are about 10% higher than the yellow gold variants. Although Rolex no longer makes a Sky-Dweller with a white gold bracelet, Sky-Dwellers in all three colors of gold are currently offered on Oysterflex bracelets.
Additionally, yellow gold and Everose gold Sky-Dwellers are available with either a matching gold Oyster bracelet or a sporty black Oysterflex bracelet–arguably the best rubber watch strap there is. Naturally, Rolex Sky-Dweller prices for Oysterflex are significantly lower than those with solid gold bracelets–generally about $11,000 lower.
Yellow gold Sky-Dweller watches are furnished with champagne, white, or black dials while Everose gold Sky-Dwellers come with the choice of white, chocolate, slate, or stunning new-for-2023 blue-green dials. While dial color does not have an impact on retail prices, it does influence market value.
The most expensive Sky-Dwellers of all are the ultra-rare off-catalog diamond-covered versions released in the early 2020’s with meteorite dials. The version with an iced-out full white gold bracelet can sell for over a million dollars.
Sky-Dweller Changes Over Time
Although the Sky-Dweller has only been a part of the Rolex catalog since 2012, the brand has refined the lineup several times.
Hour Marker Changes and the Departure of White Gold
It’s worth noting that Sky-Dweller dials had either Arabic numerals or Roman numerals until 2017. Rolex has since used lumed baton indexes (or “sticks”) across the entire Sky-Dweller catalog. Because white gold Sky-Dwellers were discontinued in 2018, very few stick-dial white gold Sky-Dwellers exist on leather straps or white gold bracelets. White gold Sky-Dwellers with blue dials in particular could be considered a modern Rolex “grail.” A white gold Sky-Dweller option returned in 2023, but this time only on Oysterflex (so it can’t be visually confused with a steel one) and with no blue dial option.
Leather Straps Replaced By Oysterflex
Rolex used to make gold Sky-Dwellers with leather straps. These were discontinued in favor of the rubber Oysterflex bracelets in 2020. The fourth digit in the model number of a Sky-Dweller on a leather strap is always 1, as in ref. 326135. That 1 became a 2 for Oysterflex Sky-Dwellers. Meanwhile, on solid gold bracelet models, that fourth digit is always 9. Leather-strap Rolex Sky-Dweller prices are generally in the $30,000-$34,000 range.
Modern Tweaks
Rolex began offering Jubilee bracelets for all steel or two-tone Sky-Dwellers in 2021. In 2023, the ultra-efficient Chronergy escapement was added to the Sky-Dweller’s movement and a new (otherwise unchanged) generation of Sky-Dweller was born. The mint green dial also debuted in 2023 and has remained the most popular option for a Sky-Dweller yet.
At one point, people were predicting that the Rolex Sky-Dweller would be “hotter than the Daytona.” Well, that never happened, and the luxury watch market has cooled off from its 2022 heights, but the price of a Rolex Sky-Dweller hasn’t dipped too much.
