300,000 Dollar Watches: Richard Mille and Beyond
$300,000 isn’t what it used to be–it’s less than 1/100th of the price of the most expensive Patek Philippe ever sold. But $300,000 can still buy some absolutely insane watches, including many rare Richard Mille watches. If you want to know what kind of Richard Mille watch 300k buys you in 2023, read on–and we have a couple suggestions from other elite watch brands too.
- Richard Mille RM11-03 Rose Gold
- Richard Mille RM11-03 Flyback Chronograph Watch FQ TPT
- Richard Mille RM011 Felipe Massa Flyback Chronograph Titalyt
- AP Rainbow Royal Oak 15413BC
- AP Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked Watch 15412BC
- Ulysse Nardin Westminster Jaquemarts Genghis Khan Tourbillon Minute Repeater Watch
Today we take a look at some of the rarest and sought after Richard Mille watches on the market today. We love the RM11-03, and there are a few variants. If you’re looking for a $300k watch, there aren’t many watches you can’t choose–but a few RM11-03 models in particular are out of reach. These two watches are next to impossible to find and it’s easy to see why, given the low production and high demand:
- The RM11-03 Jean Todt limited edition is only 150 pieces and it is next to impossible to find this watch today. Jean Todt is a legendary name in the Formula 1 world, and the beautiful blue Richard Mille watch named after him goes for well over $500,000 nowadays.
- The RM 11-03 McLaren Automatic Flyback Chronograph has proven to be remarkably popular and is also a $500,000 watch as of 2023.
But don’t worry! We happen to think there is an even more appealing RM 11-03 model that you can buy for $300,000 (give or take)!
Richard Mille RM11-03 Rose Gold
The Richard Mille RM11-03 in rose gold is closer to a $325,000 watch at this point, but it is undeniably striking.
Richard Mille RM11-03 Flyback Chronograph Watch FQ TPT
Even though this is more like a $375,000 watch, we feel compelled to show you the bright red Richard Mille RM11-03 flyback chrono. It’s not the rarest Richard Mille in the world but it’s certainly hard to find:
Richard Mille RM011 Felipe Massa Flyback Chronograph Titalyt
To even it out, now we’re going to go the other direction and show you a watch that’s actually a bit cheaper than $300,000–closer to $200,000 in the current market, actually. The Felipe Massa version of the Richard Mille RM011 isn’t as outrageously bold as the FQ TPT version, and some might prefer this black-on-black style.
AP Rainbow Royal Oak 15413BC
Since we’re on the topic of $300,000 watches, it’s no surprise that we’re going to show you an Audemars Piguet watch. AP has made a variety of rainbow watches, and the 15413 BC is one of our favorites:
AP Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked Watch 15412BC
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked Watch is another lovely way to spend (just over) $300,000 on a watch.
Ulysse Nardin Westminster Jaquemarts Genghis Khan Tourbillon Minute Repeater Watch
There’s more to the world of $300,000 watches than Richard Mille and the Holy Trinity, however. Ulysse Nardin makes some undeniable masterpieces, although they often get slept on as a brand. While they’re known for their more nautical-themed diving watches, they are also perfectly capable of high complications. At 2023 prices, this Genghis Khan tourbillon minute repeater is an absolutely dazzling $250,000 watch.
